Ian Maxwell

Ian Maxwell

Ian Maxwell is an Associate Professor in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Sydney. He trained as a director at the Victorian College of the Arts, most recently having directed ‘Sergeant Snow White’, a wartime revue originally created and performed in 1943 by Jewish refugee aliens transported to Australia on board the Dunera in 1940. His current research project focuses on the visit to Australia of the Polish theatre maker Jerzy Grotowski in the early 1970s. Ian is also General Editor of the Platform Papers series.
