David Mortimer writes poetry to read aloud, to entertain the eye, the ear, the mouth, and the mind. Working on a third collection, to follow Red in the Morning (Bookends, 2005) and Fine Rain Straight Down (Friendly Street New Poets Eight Wakefield, 2003), Mortimer has had poems shortlisted for the Blake Poetry Prize 2009 and the Newcastle Poetry Prize 2010. His Thirteen Poems CD (2010) is available from the author.
