Karen Solie was born in Moose Jaw and grew up on the family farm in south-west Saskatchewan. Her most recent collection, The Caiplie Caves, was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and Derek Walcott Prize. A new collection, Wellwater, will be published in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States in April 2025. She is a half-time lecturer in creative writing with the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and spends the rest of the year in Canada.
