Tina Kane worked as Conservator in Textile Conservation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for thirty years, specialising in tapestry. She was the author of The Troyes Mémoire: The Making of a Medieval Tapestry and also published essays, translations, reviews, and poems, including one in Australian Book Review shortly before her death in 2015. She taught at Vassar College, in the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program, and was Principal of Tina Kane Textile Conservation and Restoration. She divided her time between homes in New York and rural Victoria. Her poem 'Time Watch' was published in the December 2014 issue of ABR.
